MSFW Designer Series Runway 2

In the MSFW Designer Series Runway 2, things were a little controversial with animal rights protesters preaching their belief and showing video clips of slaughtering animals but luckily none crashed the show and to my knowledge, no animals were harmed as I cannot see any fur used in the collections.

But onwards to the show, the list of designers and brands showing were, Arthur Galan, Life With Bird, Carly Hunter, Manning Cartell, Above., Alice Euphemia, Jayson Brunsdon, YB J'aime and Thurley.

When spring comes, most think of soft, flowy dresses and romantic themed outfits. Romance was definitely in the show but it was in form of structured and sharply cut silhouettes.

In Manning Cartel we see geometrically lined digital floral print that wraps the body and a highlight in form of a hot pink cropped knit piece and geometric lined pants.

Then we have Arthur Galan showcasing minimalistic pieces with straight cuts and black pipings, two-toned blazers and white dresses which are flowing but sartorial.

And of course, who can forget the bright colored clinical like surgeon mesh tops in Above or the mini cape that was shown in YB J’aime.

Amazing designs were abundance and choosing the best can never as hard as this.

Two of my favourite collection from this runway would be Alice Euphemia and Jayson Brunsdon. I love the digital print in neon hues from Alice Euphemia and the deep burgundy and pale lace from Jayson Brunsdon.

Which is your favourite?

Fashion {MSFW}: Review Show @ City Square

Just went through all the pictures for the Review show and their collection is so pretty! I absolutely love the floral peplum dress and the monochrome dresses! Review always make such pretty dresses.

Take a look at the article below on the recent Review show.

Lady is the keyword to the entire Review spring collection and when I say lady, think lace, frills, floral and pastel hues.

Or you can just imagine a highly sophisticated spring race back in the days where bandeau and mini dresses are not allowed. Everything just barely grazes the knee and never higher than that.

From the blur laced floral dress to the geometric pastel print dress, everything was sweet and too nice to fathom, which is why comes the slightly bolder separates in neon striking floral prints and neon tops.

And even with the dresses, in order to balance out the sweetness, a little spice in form of patent skinny belts were placed neatly high waisted. It gives edge and also accentuates the curves on the wearer.

To celebrate spring, Review also released a series of limited edition dresses to top that sugary collection.

So ladies, gear up on those pastel loves and the races are only a hop and a skip away.

Fashion {MSFW} : Wittner @ City Square

Due to numerous reasons, I couldn't attend the MSFW event this year. I'm really bummed out about it but you know, life goes on. Lucky me, a dear blogger friend is covering a series of events for me!

Here's one of the shows that he went to. It's the Wittner show held at Melbourne's City Square.

Enjoy the post!

Wittner. One of the most coveted shoe labels in Australia has finally reached their 100 years mark and to celebrate this momentous year, they had a shoe runway show at the MSFW City Square.

A shoe runway is quite the unconventional method to showcase heels, one would imagine models dressed in only just tees and pants for the purpose of highlighting the shoe.

But not in Wittner, models were dressed according to themes based on their collection of shoes for this spring/summer.

From neon theme with blue jumpsuits and umbrella, pastel theme with soft frilled dresses, cupcakes and pastel chairs to punk with shredded tights and chains to match.

Not just that, Wittner also made the models dance according to the music beat, instead of the typical runway stomping – think Coco Rocha in Jean Paul Gaultier.

Why the dance, you ask? Wittner wants to show guests that their heels are so good and comfortable despite the towering heel that one can dance with it.

So in short, the show was not like any other. And to top the perfect sundae with a cherry, Wittner also showcased their limited edition centenary collection – heels dressed in Swarovski crystals. It was a true star studded moment.
