Ad: {Dove Nutri Oil Review}

Advertorial

Now, I am sure most of you know I had the ombre hair before.

Sad to say, my hair condition deteriorated due to the excessive bleaching.  I bleached my hair twice, dyed it purple, constantly blow drying it then dyed my whole head a shade darker then constantly blow drying and curling it again.

In short, the ends of my hair was in a bad condition.

Luckily Nuffnang sent me Dove's Nutri Oil to save my dying hair!

What is

Dove's Nutri Oil

?

"Dove Nourishing Oil harnesses the power of oils to transforms dry, rough and frizzy hair into beautifully smooth hair that’s easier to manage and style.

The weightless nourishing oil is enriched with Argan Oil, that penetrates the hair rapidly to deeply nourish, instantly smooth frizz and revitalize shine without weighing down hair."

It is formulated with Coconut and Sweet Almond oil. The smell of it is just divine! :)

Like the Moroccan Oil, it's just as effective but only for a fraction of the price. It reduces roughness and frizz by 99 % in an instant. The weightless formula doesn't leave any oil residue, which is one thing I like about it.

Dove Nutri Oil is part of a three step system, including Dove Nutritive Therapy Nourishing Oil Care Shampoo and Conditioner. Use all three for a more effective result.

Nutri Oil retails at only $RRP 9.90.

Check out the condition of my hair before I used Dove's Nutri Oil:

Urgh! Just the sight of it makes me sad! :(

I've only used a small amount (1 pump) of Dove's Nutri Oil on my hair as shown on my hand below. Please excuse my dry hands, thanks!

My hair after the application:

You can definitely see a difference in my hair, especially at the ends. It looks and feels much smoother than before. Not only that, it smells great too!

Look! Even my hands doesn't look dry anymore! One thing I learnt from working at a professional hair product company is that, a good hair product can be used both on your hands and hair. Sometimes it can be used as a hand lotion too. Trust me, I know people who used a hair night leave on treatment as lotion for their hands cause they ran out of hand cream!

I hate how some hair serum/oil leaves a greasy feeling on my hands after I apply them. This one doesn't leave any!

The next day, after my first application, my hair still looks great without too much frizziness.

You can re apply Dove's Nutri Oil as much as you like to get the smooth and shiny gloss that you want on your hair. I reapplied another thin layer to my hair (unwashed from the day before) and tada! Smooth hair again.

All in all, I am really happy with this product and would recommend it for those who has been finding a solution for your dry hair but doesn't necessarily want to spend too much on a product.

Hope this review has helped you made a choice on which product to purchase!

If you, like me, love surprises that is wrapped up in a pretty little box, you will love Glossybox.

For AUD14.95 per month, you will receive a beauty pack from Glossybox once a month in your mailbox. The idea of Glossybox is to help you avoid purchasing expensive beauty products only to find out you it was a mistake. Glossybox contains the latest beauty products samples for you to try before going out to buy the real deal.

All you have to do is become a member, pay AUD 14.95 each month, receive your Glossybox once a month and enjoy sampling the products!

Now, let's see what I got in my Glossybox.
(note: the samples in the boxes vary from box to box. Even if you and your friend subscribed at the same time, you may receive different products in your Glossyboxes)

The first box I received was probably the Valentine's Day edition as it has a heart sticker on the wrapping.
In that box, I received a proactiv toner, carmex lipbalm, elf lipgloss and eyeshadow, lovebirds nail files and lollies.

The second box is the March's edition of the Glossybox.
It contains a generous size of proactiv soap bar, KMS hair mist, avene face toner, absolutely gorgeous macadamia face cream, power balance band and a panda pen.

The March box has to be my favourite. I love the Panda Pen!! It is probably the best invention out there for all you messy make up appliers! I am one of them, so this Panda Pen is perfect for me. Also they were really generous in giving out a proactive soap bar which was a commercial sized one. Too bad proactive is not everyone. It would be better if they asked how your skin condition is before sending it out to anyone.

All in all, I am happy with my Glossybox. :)

You can find Glossybox on Facebook and Twitter as well.

Ombre Hair #2

I've gotten lots of feedbacks regarding my ombre hair. Thank you all for the positive comments. :)

However, like everything good, it has to come to an end.

As predicted, my hair colour faded. I didn't expect it to fade so quickly.

My then deep purple/pink hair has changed to an orange tinge and I'm not quite sure if I still like it.

Here are a few pictures of the colour transformation of my hair from the day I dyed it up until today.

Day 1:

Day 2:

Day 4:

As you can see from the picture above, there were multi shades on the ends of my hair. Some of the colour has faded off.

Day 5:

The dark red hues are stil visible. This was after 4 washes.

Day 7:

You can clearly see the difference of the colour in the picture above from that of Day 1. The deep purple/pink hues were completely faded. :(

Day10:

This was taken on the day I leave for Melbourne. I was so close to going to my cousin's salon to re-colour my hair but went against it due to time constraint.

Day 13:

Day 14:

This is how my hair looks like now after 2 weeks. It is now ORANGE!!! :( I don't mind it that much but wished it would stay like Day 1. So my advice to all you out there who wants to try the ombre effect, choose your colour wisely and also be prepared to spend a bit more if you wanna keep the colour. Please note that bleaching your hair will make it really dry. You can see from the above pictures that my ends look dry dry and coarse. It gets worse when I curl it but this hair looks better when I curl my hair, so it's a sacrifice I have to make!

Hope this post will make it easier for those of you who wants to try this hairstyle.

Ombre Hair

I finally gathered up the courage to bleach my hair again! The last time I did it was back in 2007 and I had a hard time maintaining my hair then. This time around though, I only did it to the ends of my hair so it's not too bad and I can always chop them off if I don't like it.

If you follow me on

twitter

, you would have known that I was contemplating on whether to dye my hair or not. I've always liked the ombre effect on hair and thought I should give it a go. My cousin who works as a hair dresser was nice enough to do this for me for a very cheap price (approximately Aud 25). You can't even get a hair cut for Aud 25 at a salon. It's so nice to have talented people in your family. I showed Jess some of my inspiration pictures, she did her magic and voila! Ombre hair! :)

If you reside in Kuala Lumpur and would like to go to her for her services please do send me an email. I'd be happy to forward you her details. Her prices are very reasonable, I promise, as she's the sole person working in her small salon.

Here are some pictures I would like to share with you lot.

The bleaching process:

I had to bleach my hair twice because my hair (even after dying it recently) is hard to discolour.

 The red/purple/pink dye:

I told her to also dye above the bleached hair area so I could get a more 'natural' effect rather than a big chunk of reddish purple on my hair.

The result of my hair after all that bleaching and dying.

Please note that the colour of the pictures beyond here aren't edited.

Under yellow light it looks like this:

Under yellow lights as well, with camera flash:

I got scared when I saw the above picture! *gasp*

Thankfully under natural lights, it looks fine.

The pictures below were taken with my Mac Book Pro's webcam. Please also do note that the colours in the below pictures aren't edited.

Just a gif I made of my new hair:

I know some of you may be sick of this ombre hair trend sticking around for too long and some may associate it with trashy teenagers but I really do love my new hair!

Hopefully the dye doesn't come off too soon.

So what do you think?

Ad: {Groomy toiletry bags & accessories}

There's a surprise at the end of this post.

Advertorial

As an organised person, I love keeping my things tidy. I'm the sort of person who will buy a drawer organiser before I fill it with the things that will be kept in the drawer.

As a person who travels quite a fair bit, I also like to organised my toiletries, make-up and accessories so that I won't go looking for them frantically when I'm travelling. Time management is crucial when you're on a tight traveling schedule so having a toiletry bag to organise your belongings saves a lot of time.

Therefore, I was so happy when I receive this package on the eve of my birthday.

Before this, I was using a dull black toiletry bag to hold my toiletries.
Now, thanks to groomy I can keep my toiletries organised and looking pretty too!!

GROOMY – YOUR TRAVELLING BATHROOM AND BEAUTY FRIEND

Groomy is the creation of the talented designer, Tania Fittkau who decided to create a young and vibrant range of toiletries goodies to ease your frustration when it comes to organising your toiletries.

The products are of excellent quality and is very affordable.
Not only that, as an animal lover, I like the fact that they are supporting an animal hospital.

This overnight toiletry bag in woodland design has got to be my favourite.
It fits all my on-the-go make up and is a good size to chuck it in my handbag.
The other product that I love is the beauty tool wallet, also in woodland design.
It's a very versatile product cause you can actually use it as a wallet to keep your cash and cards for days when you don't want to use your bulky purse.

It's also perfect as a card/cash organiser that you can use for your clutch!

I say no more dull toiletries bags, bring on Groomy! :)
