Work: Jakarta Photo Diary

As much as I hate Jakarta's horrendous traffic, I do like going Jakarta for work. Though we are always rushing but I still find time to appreciate the immaculate interior design of each and every cafe or restaurant in their malls. The food is mediocre but their decoration is always spot on. During this trip, I discovered this good coffee place called DJOURNAL in Grand Indonesia mall. A must visit when you're in the city. Other than that, I also love catching up with

Fashion Valet

's Indonesian brands and designers. Not only that, I can't wait to bring back the goodies to share with our customers on the website!

*Disclaimer - 80% of what I did during my work trip is obviously not included in this post ;)*

Fashion : #fvfordowny Collection on FashionValet.com

#FVfor Downy

is our latest project happening on

FashionValet.com

. Our lady boss, Vivy, collaborated with Downy to come up with a collection in black and gold and this is the outcome!

I cannot be any prouder of our in house designer May, who did an exceptionally good job in designing and executing this collection together with Vivy. First day of the launch was so successful, a couple of designs have been sold out already. My favourite piece from this collection would be the wrap dress and the mini dress.

If you haven't checked out the collection, you ought to do so

Behind The Scene : CNY styling for Capital TV

A few weeks ago Capital TV stopped by our HQ for an interview session with Vivy for FashionValet.com. I was assigned to style-it, Chinese New Year style!! So think lots of red and gold! :)

We have plenty of gorgeous clothing for Chinese New Year so I was really excited to style for this set.

For our first model these are her looks:

Our second model's looks:

And last but not least ,Vivy's outfit for the interview:

Vivy is wearing

Skelly's baroque top in red

and Ola earrings.

Our first model is quite petite so I chose outfits that will compliment an average height lady.

First look:

Free flow sleeveless top with

dressingpaula's gold sequin skirt

and Kiss and Tell's red wedges.

I love the skirt so much I bought one for myself to wear during Chinese New Year. This skirt is surprisingly comfy to wear despite the sequins all around it. If only it wasn't so eye-catching, I would've  worn it everyday.

Second look:

Sereni & Shentel headband

,

dressingpaula peplum dress

and Kiss and Tell's red heels.

Third look:

Skelly pants, red jacket (coming soon), Janelle necklace and Kiss and Tell floral pumps.

Our second model is tall and lanky therefore I chose outfits which will compliment her body type such as knee length skirts and asymmetrical long top.

Fourth look:

Red diamante kaftan from

Kohlur

 and headband from

AzuraAzwa

Fifth look:

Cangkuk

neon necklace, Kiss and Tell

peplum

top and Skelly

pants in mustard

.

The finale look for both models:

Left:

House of Doll

flowy dress and Glam Rock Chic heels

Right:

Dude and the Duchess

red dress and Z'NG booties.

We so much fun shooting this interview for Capital TV. We were laughing half the time, even with the presenter.

Which outfit is your favourite? Mine is definitely the gold skirt and flowy dress number :)

What I Wore : Adila Long Launch

I've heard of Adila Long and her famous 'Songket/Batik' clutches early of last year. Adila Long launched their first ever collection recently at Publika. Lucky me to have the opportunity to attend their launch. I've been waiting for a while now for their launch and I must say, I wasn't disappointed at all. There were so many pretty batik pieces, both RTW and also bridal. Not forgetting the one of a kind clutches which combine traditional fabric and edgy designs.

My favourite piece from Adila Long's first collection is this beautiful long fishtail back red dress. I love how it's slightly tailored and flowy at the same time. The mix of different fabric is just spot on! If only I brought my DSLR along, I could've captured better pictures. Lugging it around is quite a pain though when I'm working.

Other pieces that caught my attention:

That's all from the fashion launch. I hope they will come up with more pieces in the future :) Now I just have to save up and get their Songket clutches!

What I wore for the launch:

Songket Blazer in Pink -

SPOTLIGHT from FashionValet.com

Pants -

Skelly in the Closet from FashionValet.com

(my 3rd pair of pants from Skelly!)

Sunburst Necklace: House of Harlow

Shoes: Vincci

Love Marissa's BCBG pants.

I thought of wearing something traditional but also modern at the same time. This jacket was perfect! I never knew we had such a beautiful jacket on FashionValet.com until I searched for the term Songket.

My pictures taken with my Samsung S3 doesn't do this jacket justice so here's a detailed picture of it.

Retailing at only RM 170 which is approximately AUD60, it's very affordable. We only have 1 more piece left, so hurry and get one now!

What I Wore : Rizalman Haute Couture 2013

One thing I love about working at FV is that I get the chance to discover so many local talent in my home country that I've never heard of before. Rizalman Ibrahim is one of them and I should be ashamed of myself for not knowing about him before. His latest Haute Couture 2013 collection is just breathtakingly amazing. I love the heavily baroque gold detailing on some of his pieces.

Now if only I can afford any one of these.

Le sigh!

Watch the following video for a closer look at his Haute Couture 2013 collection:

What I wore for the fashion show:

Outfit details, FV wear it proud style :)

Oh and not forgetting my favourite Skelly in the Closet pants. I swear I live in them for months!

Skelly has some new designs and they are flying out the window!

Shop them now!

Awesome Peplum is awesome!

These pretty detachable peplum belts arrived in the office yesterday and the buying team got a wee bit excited.

We were called the "confused ballerinas", mixing prints and sequins together.

Do you like detachable peplum belts?

I love them!

I think whoever came up with this is a genius!
