Once a month, J comes back to Melbourne for his short break in between work. Every time he comes back, he would want to travel somewhere. Not complaining here! :D So over his last break here, we decided to go to New Zealand! Even though it was a super short one but it was totally worth it. You know those amazing wallpaper images that you find on Google, imagine that around you but 10 times better! My eyes had such a feast the entire trip. You gotta be there, see it and believe it. I hope my pictures are good enough for you to imagine it.
Straight after our flight from Melbourne to New Zealand, we started our road trip right after. Our route for Day 1 was Christchurch to Queenstown. (The South Islands) So glad J decided to drive instead of taking a flight straight to Queenstown. The view during the whole road trip was amazeballs! I couldn't stop ooh-ing and ahh-ing at every scenery we see through our car window. Needless to say, we stopped by at almost every picturesque spot.
First stop was Lake Tekapo.
Second was Lake Pukaki. I've seen so many Instagram pictures of this place, we had to include it in our list. Well, the actual place didn't disappoint at all. It was so beautiful. Possibly my favourite lake out of all the lakes we have visited. More pictures of this beautiful lake during sunset in upcoming New Zealand posts.
After that, we took a scenic heli ride with Alpine Adventures over the Mount Cook region. It was so awesome but nerve wrecking at the same time, for me, cause I'm afraid of heights! It was so beautiful though.
That's the end of Part 1. Will be sharing more pictures on another post.
